Account Executive

Cumulus Broadcasting | Lexington, KY is seeking a dynamic Account Executive to join our team! We are looking for passionate, motivated, goal oriented individuals with high business acumen and the desire to WIN in a fast-paced highly competitive sales environment. The Account Executive identifies and develops new business opportunities; grows existing client relationships; offers solutions that help clients achieve their business goals; closes business and meets or exceeds set sales targets.

  • Able to identify client business needs by gaining a deep understanding of their goals, objectives and processes as well as their external environment including key market and consumer trends to proactively develop customized advertising solutions to meet client objectives
  • Deliver effective multi-platform, integrated sales presentations (broadcast, digital, events); negotiation and closing
  • Beyond our broadcast products, have strong familiarity and become full-versed in selling both Cumulus’ station digital assets (e.g. streaming, stations website and social advertising) and digital audience extension products to deliver a complete marketing solution to advertisers
  • Excel at prospecting and aggressively seeking new clientele by networking, cold calling, canvassing, referrals or other means to build and maintain a full pipeline of sales prospects
  • Follow all station and corporate procedures for preparing orders, resolving billing issues, submitting regular reports regarding sales, pipeline lists, forecasts and competitive analysis
    • Stay abreast of the competitive landscape and emerging technologies to best position Cumulus in the marketplace
  • Think creatively and generate original ideas
  • Proficiency in prospecting and aggressively seeking new clientele by networking, cold-calling, canvassing, referrals and other means, are core competencies of a Cumulus seller
  • Expert in the customer’s business by gaining a deep understanding of their goals, objectives and processes as well as their external environment including key market and consumer trends
  • Creative spark – the ability to design, create and deliver customized advertising proposals/presentations
  • Present client solutions by building rapport and delivering results
  • Gain referral business by providing support, information, and guidance, qualitative research and recommending new opportunities for profit and/or service improvements
  • Deliver exceptional client service
  • Experience in outside Sales strongly preferred
  • Proven experience growing and maintaining a robust sales funnel
  • Recognized top sales performer with a track record of over-achieving
  • Strong sales acumen and proficiency in all phases of the sales cycle, proactive outbound phone sales and new account development
  • Ability to perform independently in a fast-paced, competitive sales environment
  • Effective communicator with the ability to cultivate relationships
  • Accustomed to working with creative thinkers, digital marketers and editors
  • Media sales experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred

News Director/Web Editor

CUMULUS-NEWS TALK-LEXINGTON, KY has a full-time opening for News Director & Web Page Editor.

  • Produce 30 minute weekly public service show Update station website Monitor coverage and delivery of news to ensure it’s compelling & accurate for local & state stories on-air & online.
